Opening Day Celebration
and Spring Cleanup 2005 Wrapup
This year the 495th R/C Squadron, Inc. held their annual "Opening Day"
Celebration and Spring Cleanup on Saturday April 9, 2005 at the "Captain John A. Ogonowski
Memorial Model Flying Field" (Pinnacle Street). Approximately 75
members, friends and guests were in attendance to enjoy one of the first
truly magnificent days of Spring. After a long Winter, it was good to get
outside, soak up the nice weather and enjoy some flying!!
Thanks to Dick Adams, George Desrosiers, Randy DiSanto, Gus
Deltwas and Joe Ramaci for helping with the field cleanup! Once again, due
to the efforts of the 495th R/C Squadron, Inc., the entire area around the Ogonowski Field looks neat and clean! The Club continues to be a good
neighbor, and an asset to the community!!
At noontime, a free barbeque of grilled hotdogs, chips,
soda and cookies was served. A total of 120 hotdogs, 25 hamburgers, 3 bags of
chips, 8 bottles of soda, and 2 packages of cookies were consumed by
those in attendance. The
Opening Day barbeque was graciously donated by John Morley,
Dick Adams and Carlos Beltran. No Club funds were spent to bring this
fine event to the membership, so please make a point to thank these members for
